For many years, color slides had been an integral part of my teaching and public speaking. In 1998, I began to print some of these images, selected from among thousands taken over the preceding twenty-five years. This exhibit represented some of the first fruit from this much larger project. The twelve photographs in this exhibit, from 1984-1990, were among those featured in my book The Eye Is a Door: Landscape, Photography, and the Art of Discovery, many years later.
This exhibit was organized by the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, New York (October-November 2000).
